David Gonzales
Free Spirit & World Traveler
Dave was born 3/3/63 in Phoenix with a free spirit and passion to travel. To live life simply and his way.
He was known for a keen sense of humor with a smile (grin) that made those lucky friends and family that knew him laugh often.
Dave was a gentle and sensitive man who many considered a loner, and cats and dogs trusted! He was loyal selfless and giving to friends, while courageously overcoming challenges with grace.
He knew simplicity and frugality and lived his life unburdened by material concerns. He and his daypack treked throughout Asia, East and Western Europe, Egypt and Australia. His curiosity ranged from presidential libraries to the streets of Slovenia and French Riviera.
3/11/12 he passed suddenly at St. David’s Hospital in Austin; helping a friend. To all that knew him he was and is a Saint, Shining brightly traveling. He was en route to a 3 month adventure to see the running of the bulls in Madrid. (via Morrocco to Turkey) Dave’s way.
He is survived by brother Daniel, Charity, Bailee and other nieces and relatives in Phoenix and Mexico.
And many close friends in His beloved Santa Barbara where he settled for years. Wayne, Candice, Nadine, Marci Jerry and Glen.
A Celebration of Dave’s life is planned for Friday 5/25 at 4pm at Leadbetter Beach.
