Anyone who saw Joshua Bell perform with The Academy of St. Martin in the Fields last year, simultaneously as the orchestra’s conductor and concertmaster, knows his remarkable talent first hand. And he returns this week for a more intimate performance, in recital with his regular piano accompanist Sam Haywood. And Oscar fans take note next Sunday– Joshua recorded one of the nominated original songs with actress and singer Scarlett Johannson. (UCSB Arts & Lectures; 2/20 @ The Granada, 8PM)
