Women as Climate Justice Champions in Celebration of International Women’s Day.
Join Dining for Women and partners for an International Women’s Day event highlighting the collective power of women around the world fighting for environmental justice in their own countries and communities.
Dining for Women is a global giving circle dedicated to transforming lives and eradicating poverty among women and girls in the developing world. Through member education and engagement, as well as the power of collective giving, Dining for Women funds grassroots organizations that empower women and girls and promote gender equity. For this event DFW is partnering with Women of Peace Corps Legacy, UNICEF USA, Peace is Loud, and Dr. Tererai Trent.
Santa Barbara resident, Linda Eckerbom Cole, Founder and Executive Director of African Women Rising will be a keynote speaker in Santa Barbara and will be joined from Washington DC via live streaming by Dr. Tererai Trent, humanitarian and Oprah’s “All Time Favorite Guest” and Dr. Laly Lichtenfeld, Co-Founder of African People & Wildlife in Tanzania. These exceptional women will provide a fascinating perspective on women as climate justice champions.
