This event offers children age 8-14 the opportunity to learn from expert birders and environmental scientists about the various birds of our region.

Registration starts at 9:00 am. Meet at the Stow House Parking Lot. The first 75 participants will receive a free t-shirt.

Children will first learn how to use binoculars, which will be available for each participant to use at the event. A list of target bird species will be provided and educators will present information about how to identify each one.  Bird calls will be played and large photos will be shared so that kids will learn what to look and listen for.

From 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM, children will explore Lake Los Carneros with experienced team leaders. The event concludes with a Bird Count compilation, where the tallies of species will be collected and the final numbers counted.
