Garden maintenance is the key to thriving plants, biologically rich soil, lower water use, and long term sustainability. In this class learn the basics of plant establishment, irrigation, pruning, fertilization/mulching, integrated pest management, and weeding, to make the most of your water wise garden. Water wise gardens have become the norm in Santa Barbara and we want to keep them healthy and beautiful.
This 101 class will be unique in that we will have the opportunity to look at a nearby rain garden and talk about what care would be needed for the native plants at that site. Sunset is not until 7:15 on the night of March 25 so we can have a little time in the garden at the start of the class.
