Selah Dance Collective is thrilled to announce Summer Dance Fest, set to take place on August 24-25 at Center Stage Theater in Santa Barbara. This vibrant event celebrates the diversity and creativity of our local dance community, bringing together dancers of all ages and styles for a weekend of performances and community engagement.

Summer Dance Fest will feature performances from a wide range of dance genres, including contemporary, hip-hop, ballet, flamenco, and more. Highlights of the event include performances by the following:

  • Two new works by Selah Dance Collective: “Prompted Existence” by Arianna Hartanov and “Palermo!” by Meredith Ventura, which will premiere in January 2025.

  • Performances by Evoke Motion Society (information below), including a solo by founder Emily Stokes.

  • Performances by SYNRGY Dance Co, including group work and duet with founders Bethany Sutherland and Richard Chung.

  • Additional works by Ashley Almada (Santa Barbara), Beth Guerrero and Cartier La Falaise (Santa Barbara), Chloé Roberts (New York City), Catherine H. Fisher (Los Angeles), Sasha Serdyukov and Erika Soto (Los Angeles), Riley Haley (San Diego), Marika Stellwagen (Carpinteria), Katie Brady (Los Angeles), Karyn Laver (Santa Barbara), and the Dance Network SB.

  • Robin Bisio will present a new dance film, “Salted Earth,” featuring dancer Kaita Mrazek.
