Skunk Baxter- SOhO

Jeff “Skunk” Baxter is a legendary artist and Grammy-winning guitarist, known for his stints in the rock bands Steely Dan, The Doobie Brothers and Spirit. He has toured with those hit-packed bands as well as with Julian Lennon, Linda Rondstat and played on sessions for Ringo Starr, Joni Mitchell, Bryan Adams, Freddie Hubbard, John Cougar Mellencamp, Cher, Rod Stewart, Dolly Parton, Julio Iglesias, Barbara Streisand, Gene Simmons, Carly Simon, Donna Summer, and The Beach Boys, (to name a few) . His spunky, melodic, and highly sophisticated approach to soloing – rocky enough for rockers, jazzy enough for jazzers – quickly made him one of the most in-demand, first-call studio guitarists during the glory days of the 1970s West Coast singer-songwriter period.

More recently, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Doobie Brothers in 2020. In his first solo album, “Speed of Heat”, Baxter finally gets to stretch his own wings. The record, released on June 17th, 2022 on BMG/Renew Records and features Baxter working out on a diverse set list of originals and covers, both vocal and instrumental, that highlights his eclectic nature.
