Join Emily Benaron and Michael Allison in a somatic exploration of how you relate to stress with breath, yoga, mindfulness, and embodiment practices. Empower yourself with knowledge about your nervous system, recognize the reflexive bodily reactions we label stress, and build a holistic toolbox for stress resilience from the inside out.
“We can’t control what’s happening around us; we can’t control our body’s reflexive reactions to what’s happening; but we can control what we do to manage what’s happening in our body in challenging circumstances. When we do this, we regain control of how we interact with our own bodily feelings, others we engage with, situations we encounter, and the world we live in.” – Michael Allison
Stress is an inevitable factor of being human. Every interconnected system in the body adaptively responds to stressful events, as well as to features of safety, ease and connection. This experiential workshop will give you a unique opportunity to recognize your physiological state, explore your relationship with stress activation within your body, learn how to recover from stressful events more effectively, and create a “habit of safety” for your nervous system.
