Scouting Honors Steve Golis and Robert Burtness

Scouting America, Los Padres Council is happy to invite you to join us in celebration as we recognize two community leaders. Los Padres Council will be holding our annual “Salute to Scouting” event on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the historic Santa Barbara Club! This is an eloquent event for people to come together and support youth while honoring two dedicated leaders in our community. This year we are honored to recognize Bob Burtness with the National Outstanding Eagle Scout Award and Steve Golis with Los Padres Council’s Legacy Award.

These two distinguished leaders have impacted our youth for years. With your support they look to impact 7,000 young people annually in our local Scouting, Exploring, and The Outdoor School programs. The youth that will become our neighbors, employees, and future leaders of our country. Some will pass on the legacy of Scouting to the next generation; but all will have a positive impact in their communities.

On behalf of the Planning Committee, we invite you to have a lasting impact on the local youth by sponsoring this event. Your support will ensure that many youths that could not otherwise afford to take advantage of our scouting leadership programs, have that experience afforded to them.
