Santa Barbara Public Library

In A Long Petal of the Sea, Victor plays regular games of chess with Salvador Allende. As part of SB Reads, we’re playing the game of strategy together. Players of all ages and skill levels are invited to practice their chess strategies while playing against others in a relaxed, stress-free environment. No prior registration is required. This is a drop-in opportunity to have fun and maybe learn a new chess move or two. Experienced players will be on hand to provide tips and assistance. The Library will have chess sets for play, but feel free to bring your own.

Santa Barbara Reads is funded through the annual support of the Santa Barbara Public Library Foundation. To learn more about the foundation and how to support SB Reads 2023, visit their website.
