The Santa Barbara County Genealogical Society welcomes community members to its General Meeting on Saturday, November 18 from 9:30am – 12pm. The presentation, titled “Finding Your Roots in Mexico,” presented by genealogist John P. Schmal, is a unique opportunity for individuals with Mexican ancestry to learn how to explore their heritage through invaluable Mexican church records dating back over 300 years.
This free event will take place at the First Presbyterian Church at 21 E. Constance Avenue in Santa Barbara. Join us at 9:30 a.m. for refreshments, meeting with the Society’s Special Interest Groups to chat about everything from beginning genealogy to writing your family history, and perusing genealogical books for sale. Following a short business meeting at 10:30 a.m., John’s presentation will begin at 11:00 a.m. The business meeting and John’s presentation will also be available via Zoom, please register at sbgen.org to attend online.
