Looking to get outside this weekend despite the rain? Join Channel Islands Restoration this Saturday morning and help defend our native plants from encroaching weeds!
Spurred on from the recent rains, millions of weeds are regrowing in the Cave Fire burn scar and threatening to smother our native plants! If we can’t clear the weeds around our native plants, they may not survive.
Join CIR on Saturday, March 14th to defend our native plants from encroaching invasive weeds! We’ll meet along Cieneguitas Rd at 9 am and take a short walk to the work site from there. We’ll work until 1:45 (with a lunch break around noon), and then head back. You can leave early if need be.
We’ll be working to remove invasive plants like black mustard, sweet fennel, castor bean, and more. Wear long sleeves, pants, and closed-toed shoes. Be sure to bring sun protection and a lunch as well!
