Santa Barbara Mayor Cathy Murillo and service organizations will honor four local organizations for their commitment to employing and supporting people with disabilities: United Boys and Girls Clubs of Santa Barbara County, Gelson’s, Old Navy, and Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital and CRH Foundation.
They will be recognized at the 16th Annual Mayor’s Awards ceremony, held virtually this year, on Thursday, October 28th at noon. The free event is open to the public via Zoom.

The annual awards are held during National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
This year’s theme “America’s Recovery: Powered by Inclusion” highlights the need for people with disabilities to fully access employment opportunities during the national recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The keynote speaker at this year’s event will be Dominick Trevethan, a disability advocate and college student living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
