One Night Only San Marcos H.S. Jazz

San Marcos High School Band Jazz Ensemble is pleased to announce a very special one-night-only local performance of their recent award-winning show from Chicago’s Heritage Festival in April. This fundraising event will help to cover outstanding costs of the trip and takes place on Wednesday, May 29 at 7:00pm at the venerable Lobero Theater. SMHS Jazz is composed of 26 students in grades 9-12 with a rich history of creating amazing music. This year was particularly poignant in that the trip was supposed to happen in March 2020. Then the pandemic hit, and it took 7 years to get there. This show follows an award-winning season with SMHS winning the Dos Pueblos HS Jazz Fest for the first time in 10 years and then taking home numerous awards at their first performance at Chicago’s Heritage Festival getting a Gold rating, taking First Place, and bringing home several prestigious group and individual awards. To top it off, SMHS Jazz scored OVER 97 which is exceedingly rare. Join us as the Royals reprise this remarkable performance. All proceeds will benefit the Instrumental Music Program at SMHS.
