Natural Reserve System Fall 2021 Virtual Seminar Series
We present an exciting opportunity to connect with the UC Santa Barbara Natural Reserve System through our second offering of a Fall Virtual Seminar Series! This year, the seven-part seminar series will kick off on Tuesday, October 5th, 2021, and each presentation will take place virtually, via Zoom, each Tuesday evening from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm PT, ending on November 16, 2021.
The 2021 seminar series will showcase the latest programs and research across UC Santa Barbara’s 7 extraordinary Reserves. Each weekly seminar will focus on a particular Reserve and will feature a paired presentation with the Reserve’s Director – sharing highlights and updates from the Reserve – and an expert scientist or educator who focuses their research or teaching at that Reserve.
UC Santa Barbara operates seven Reserves within the 41-site University of California Natural Reserve System, the world’s largest network of protected lands dedicated to supporting research and education. UCSB’s Reserves are located in diverse ecosystems ranging from coastal (Coal Oil Point Reserve, Carpinteria Salt Marsh Reserve, Santa Cruz Island Reserve, and K.S.N. Rancho Marino Reserve) to inland valleys (Sedgwick Reserve), and to the Sierra Nevada (Sierra Nevada Aquatic Research Laboratory and Valentine Reserve). We hope that you’ll join us for this inside look at the UC Natural Reserve System.
