Mike Henszey Band

Fresh off his sold-out show in Ventura, California for the release of his new EP, Fly Away, Michael Henszey embarks on a fresh adventure with an all-new band and a deep repertoire of original material. Fly Away is a collection of six songs with themes that express a desire for deeper connections and understanding with our fellow humans.

This new EP is receiving rave reviews from industry veterans and fans alike. Michael’s soaring tenor voice is dazzling audiences as he’s building a loyal following in Southern California. Joining Michael are bandmates and Santa Barbara all-stars, George Freidenthal on keyboards, Maitland Ward on guitar, Mychal Lomas on bass, and Donzell Davis on drums.

Michael Henszey forged his music career in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In his early years, a recording studio that he co-owned and managed pulled in top-tier clients (e.g. Cheap Trick, Talking Heads – Jerry Harison). He also produced music for advertising clients such as Lego, Trident, Home Depot, and Cartoon Network.

As a singer/songwriter, he’s released five albums, performed widely, and collaborated and recorded with many accomplished musicians such as Daxx Nielsen (Cheap Trick), Tim Smith (Sheryl Crow), Willy Porter, Daryl Stuermer (Genesis), Billy ‘The Buddha’ Dickens (Aretha Franklin), and Roger Joseph Manning Jr. (Jellyfish). Michael is currently performing in a duo with keyboardist, George Freidenthal, in Ventura and Santa Barbara, in addition to playing with his new bandmates. He is also the music director for the Ventura Chapter of national female-led showcase, Chick Singer Night.
