One of the most widely-acclaimed documentaries of the past two years, Not Going Quietly tells the unforgettable story of Ady Barkan, considered “The Most Powerful Activist in America” before his recent passing in November 2023.
The Emmy-nominated and critically-acclaimed feature film will screen at Metro 4 Cinemas in Ady’s hometown of Santa Barbara on the eve of his memorial, followed by a Q&A with director Nicholas Bruckman and Executive Producer Bradley Whitford.
In attendance will be many of Ady’s co-workers, fellow activists, friends, relatives, and caregivers. The screening is co-hosted by the Be a Hero organization, People’s Television, and the UCSB Carsey Wolf Center.
