Santa Barbara Polo players are elusive – we watch them play every weekend all summer, then disappear. Who are those guys? Do they really change ponies every 3 minutes? Do they ever get hurt? Saturday October 12th at 12 noon at Chaucer’s, October 19th at 1pm at Tecolote Books (cupcakes & lemonade here, too) in Montecito. The calendar is the creation of photographer Christie Jenkins, credited in New York literary circles as starting ‘the women’s market in publishing’ long ago, with her first ever calendars, photos of men for women. Here, too, she’s offered 44 romantic photos of polo players in the barn with a favorite horse – young women will be able to hang this unique wall calendar in their workplace without ire from co-workers.
