The Lompoc Valley Art Association’s Cypress Gallery will be featuring a painting and woodworking show themed “Water and Wood”. This is a collection and collaboration of new work for both artists Neal Andersson and Chuck Klein.

Neil and Chuck have always been inspired and grateful to have art in their lives with its profound influence on society and culture. From the ebullience of the natural world, art is an expression of creative self-discovery. If the goal of society is to promote good and happy life for its individuals, art is the tool that gets it done. Its just plain fun too!

Neil was born in Tacoma, Washington. His love of the visual arts parallels a very successful music career as a renowned jazz guitarist. Degreed with a MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Neal has had innumerable exhibitions and gallery presentations focusing on plein air painting in oil and pastel.

Chuck was born in Santa Barbara, Ca. An outdoors explorer Chuck’s attraction to wood turning follows a career consulting for national non-profits. Chuck uses natural found wood groomed and seasoned from the local area. His work has been profoundly influenced from cultural studies in Europe, South America, and especially Asia.

Come by and check out the exhibit and meet the artists. Their reception is open to the public and will be held at The Cypress Gallery 119 E. Cypress Avenue, Lompoc, on Sunday April 2nd 1-3 pm
