James Stewart plays George Bailey, a man with many dreams, but who always sacrifices them to help his family and his community. George takes over his father’s Building and Loan company, but when his uncle Billy loses a large cash payment, the company faces disaster. After a desperate, devastated George wishes he had never been born, an angel (Henry Travers) is sent to earth to make George’s wish come true, and show him what the town would look like without him.
