This impactful film traces the roots of the colonial conquest of North America to the so-called “Doctrine of Discovery,” which justified the dispossession of Native populations. Through the voices of three generations of Tribal women, the film unapologetically exposes the influence of founding patriarchs and white supremacy in places most never thought to look. In doing so, it advocates for a “Doctrine of Recovery” to restore social and environmental justice, reestablish harmony with the Earth, revive the sacred feminine, and ensure the survival of our species.

Following the screening, there will be an interview and Q&A session featuring the film’s senior spokesperson, Casey Camp-Horinek. Casey is a Hereditary Drum Keeper of the Ponca Nation of Oklahoma, a longtime activist, environmentalist, actress, and published author.
