Garden Street Academy Presents Sweeney Todd

Featuring a live band and raw student talent, Garden Street Academy’s Upper School students will deliver the chaos and carnage of Sweeney Todd School Edition. The show opens on Tuesday, March 17th  and will run through Thursday, March 19th.  All show times are at 7pm, and take place at our historic campus in the Black Box Theatre. 

Steven Sondheim’s masterpiece “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street – School Edition” comes to Garden Street Academy’s Black Box Theater. Sweeney Todd–wrongfully imprisoned by a corrupt judge–returns to nineteenth century London with a vendetta. Aided by the help of a down-on-her-luck owner of a failing pie shop, Mrs. Lovett, the pair scheme a way to exact revenge and reinvigorate the pie shop with a new secret ingredient that has the people of London lining up! 

“Sweeney Todd is a complicated show, and we are incredibly proud of the professionalism our cast has been demonstrating through the rehearsal process,” said director Brittany Harter. “We want the audience to feel the unease that comes with a production of this caliber, and we can’t wait to share this exciting and bloody process with audiences.”
