Mindful Heart Programs offers a 3 series, FREE Disaster Relief Workshop at CALM, serving ALL Mental Health Professionals, First Responders, Caregivers and the community at large who have been affected by the 1/9 Disaster. Please bring your own lunch.
Each workshop includes 3 components: Educational, Experiential, and Discussion (in small groups or dyads).
The first of these sessions on 2/20/20 at noon is entitled: “Wounded Warrior” trained by Radhule Weininger, PhD. She will teach about mindfulness in the context of trauma or working with people who were traumatized. You will learn how to develop self-care, and how to deal with being around those who are traumatized on a personal level.
Radhule Weininger, MD, Ph.D., clinical psychologist andteacher of meditation and applied mindfulness practice, hadbeen the resident teacher of mindfulness practice at the LaCasa de Maria Retreat Center for 17 years. Radhule ismentored by Jack Kornfield in her teaching and by JoannaMacy in her interest in Engaged Buddhism. With herhusband Michael Kearney, MD. she founded the non-profitMindful Heart Programs, and co-created Kind Mind SB, aprogram that provides mindfulness and compassion education in severalSanta Barbara schools. Besides regular weekly meditation groups, she organizes the Solidarity and Compassion town-hall meeting. “Heartwork: The Path of Self-compassion”,with a foreword by Jack Kornfield, was published in 2017.
The next two sessions at noon will be 3/19/20 “In the Aftermath of a Disaster: Learning to Reconnect”, and 4/16/20 “Helping Children Cope”.
