ASAP Cats-Animal Shelter Assistance Program
ASAP Cats’ Monthly Adoption Event and Yard Sale returns this Saturday, September 28th from 10am – 3pm. The ASAP shelter is positively brimming with cats, thus the nonprofit is encouraging its community to consider adopting or fostering a friendly feline today. All kittens at the adoption event will be 2-FUR-1.
In addition to providing a great chance to make a cat connection at the shelter, ASAP will provide a Free Microchipping Clinic from 10am – 1pm, serving as a valuable resource to local pet families looking to protect their cat. Microchipping is a quick and painless way to ensure pets are identifiable in case of emergency. Storing vital information including the name and phone number of the pet’s owner and important medical information, microchips provide a priceless safety net for both pets and pet families. When a stray cat is brought into the ASAP Cats shelter, one of the first checks done as part of the intake process is scanning for a microchip. As a commitment to serving the local cats of Santa Barbara, ASAP is proud to offer this lifesaving service for free.
For cat lovers not yet ready to adopt, fostering options are available and a great way to form a connection while giving ASAP’s cats a break from shelter life. ASAP’s volunteer matchmaker will have all the adoption/fostering details during the event, so feel free to ask a volunteer for guidance.
In addition to the adoption event and free microchipping clinic for cats, ASAP’s monthly yard sale returns with plenty of treasures to peruse, including tools, pet toys, trinkets, and unique finds for all ages. All proceeds from the monthly yard sale go directly to supporting ASAP’s continued lifesaving operations.
ASAP Cats is an organization dedicated to saving the lives of cats in Santa Barbara County by providing shelter, veterinary care, behavioral support, adoption and foster services, education, and community outreach.
