Forest Bathing is inspired by the Japanese practice shinrin-yoku, a practice meant to reconnect you to yourself and to nature in a slow, relaxing, and sensory way. Studies of forest therapy show that the practice can provide a wide range of health and wellness benefits. On your walk, Certified Forest Therapy Guide Carrie Drevenstedt will offer a series of invitations to guide you in finding your own way of immersing yourself in the natural world. Our forest bathing walk will be highly accessible, covering no more than a half-mile on a gentle trail at a leisurely pace. The walk will end with healthy snacks and a tea made from local edible plants.
Please arrive 10 minutes before class at the main entrance. Class begins promptly at 8:30am. For your comfort, consider wearing warm layers, study shoes with tread, a hat and sunscreen, and bringing a small pad or camping stool to sit on.
Pre-registration required. No walk ins.
