About the instructor:
Originally from Mexico City, Irene Kelly started her path in the financial industry after pursuing a degree in Finance and Entrepreneurship at the University of Utah. Early in her career she was introduced to the space of Microfinance after an internship took her to Kathmandu, Nepal where she learned about the value of financial support and services for the under served.
Through this experience, she was drawn to the sectors of Impact Investing and Economic Development at CHOICE Humanitarian, a non-profit working to alleviate extreme poverty in 7 countries. Through her role at CHOICE, she was able to generate processes to measure and evaluate impact data while working with entrepreneurs that needed support starting their businesses. While working there, she also developed a Financial Literacy program and started working as a Financial Educator.
Irene moved to Santa Barbara two years ago and currently works as a Financial Advisor for Edward Jones, where she enjoys providing financial guidance and education to the community.
