The public is invited to attend a panel discussion titled Empowerment for Young People Post Roe presented by the Santa Barbara Women’s Political Committee’s Young Feminists.
The panelists will discuss the SCOTUS ruling in the case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health and the Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade, including the implications of that decision for young women, their partners, families, and futures. They will explore the steps young women should take in an unfamiliar, post-Roe world.
There will be a Q and A following the panel members’ remarks.
The panelists are Julia Teymouri, Director of UCSB Students for Reproductive Justice; Erica Reyes, District Director, 24 th Congressional District Office, Congressman Salud Carbajal; Jackie Gardena, Dean and Chief Academic Officer of The Colleges of Law; Luz Reyes-Martín, Planned Parenthood, Vice President of Community Engagement, and Vianey Lopez, District Director, Senator Monique Limón.
