On Saturday, February 29, 2020 the Dos Pueblos Instrumental Music Program will host the 51st Annual Jazz Festival at the Elings Performing Arts Center on the campus of DPHS.
Hundreds of students from schools around the region perform during the daytime competition.
The Festival culminates in a 7:00 pm concert. Headliners are Hall of Fame drummer and former player with Chick Corea, David Weckl, along with the horn section of the jazz/R&B/funk quasi-collective Snarky Puppy.
Both guest artists will conduct lunchtime clinics with Festival bands. Also featured will be the DPHS Jazz Band led by Dan Garske, and the SBCC Lunch Break Band led by James Mooy.
Evening program tickets are $25; students/seniors are $20. Both include daytime admission.
Daytime program only is $10.
The evening program in the EPAC brings in people from around the community, and is the biggest fundraiser for DP’s Instrumental Music Program, helping to fund the jazz band, marching band, concert band, orchestra, drum line, and dance guard.
