DOUBLE-THE-FUN EVENT WITH TWO LOCAL CHILDREN’S AUTHORS
JULIE DILLEMUTH– CAMILLA, CARTOGRAPHER
ROBIN YARDI–OWL’S OUTSTANDING DONUTS
Chaucer’s Books is looking forward to twice the fun with two local children’s authors launching their new books. Please join us with special guests Julie Dillemuth and Robin Yardi, who will be reading and signing their latest books. You are invited to come celebrate with donuts, bookmarks, & maps!
In Julie Dillemuth’s new picture book, Camilla, Cartographer, a huge snowstorm buries the paths around Camilla’s forest home, so she breaks out her compass and goes on an adventure to discover her forest all over again. “An adorable adventure in cartography.” –Kirkus
Robin Yardi’s new mystery, Owl’s Outstanding Donuts, takes flight when an owl warns ten-year-old Mattie Waters that someone is secretly polluting the land near her aunt’s Big Sur donut shop and she sets out to stop them in a story full of donuts, friends, and feathers! “Doughn’t miss this earnest tale.” –Kirkus
JULIE DILLEMUTH is a children’s writer and geographer with expertise in spatial cognition. Spatial cognition involves understanding how people think about space and navigate the world around them. She writes picture books and contributes stories and poems to children’s magazines. Her titles include Loving Comfort: A Toddler Weaning Story, Mapping my Day, Lucy in the City.
ROBIN YARDI is a children’s book author, credentialed teacher, and mom. She lives California with chickens, turkeys, rabbits, and a juvenile Sulcata tortoise. Coyotes cruise by stealing chickens, hawks dip in the sky looking for lizards, the quiet deer nibble from fruit trees, and every year new quail chicks are born out in the scrub! Robin is the author of The Midnight War of Mateo Martinez, and They Just Know: Animal Instincts.
