Housing and homelessness is one of the most pressing challenges facing our community. At least 1,500 people are unsheltered in the Santa Barbara area, including an increasing number of families and people experiencing homelessness for the first time.
Yet locally we are seeing coordinated efforts and innovative approaches that are seeing much success. Join Democratic Women of Santa Barbara County and the League of Women Voters for a discussion to understand the issues and learn about local success stories as we advocate for continued collaboration to ensure that members of our community have a place to call home.
Featured speakers include Lucille Boss, Encampment Response Coordinator with the County of Santa Barbara, Dale Fathe-Aazam, Director of Real Estate and Technology at the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Barbara, Kathleen Baushke, Executive Director, Transition House and Jeff Gaddess of Dignity Moves, which is working to provide Interim Supportive Housing for everyone experiencing unsheltered homelessness across the County of Santa Barbara.
