The band is Whole Hog (For a rollicking good time – Go Whole Hog!). Andy Shore is the caller.

Rooted in tradition, the Whole Hog band pushes the boundaries of bluegrass, Irish, swing, country and old time music. Lush vocal harmonies, instrumental mastery and fresh arrangements are at the forefront of their unique sound. Whole Hog is a Ventura-based bluegrass band that performs timeless hits, eclectic selections from the roots of Americana music.Their sound blends traditional bluegrass repertoire with Irish, vintage jazz, yodeling, country, western swing, and honky tonk.

Seth Andrey Oster (guitar) is a contest winning flatpicker, fingerpicker, singer, and yodeler.

Charletta Erb“Sharleeta” is a California State Adult Division Fiddle Champion recognized for her lyrical waltzes and clear tone. She has a deep affection for Irish and Old Time music.

Keith Frankel found his true passion for music as a teenager when he discovered the five-string banjo. Before moving to California, he worked with a variety of Colorado-based string bands and currently teaches at Boulevard Music in Culver City.

Corey Highberg sings and plays upright bass. He teaches, researches, composes, and performs music in a variety of styles.

Andy Shore is doing the calling honors. Andy”s kindness, patience, and attention to detail, both in teaching the dance and in calling and shepherding the dancers along when they falter or stray, helps the newcomers and experienced dancers alike.

We have been having many new dancers and we are all having fun! We start the dance at 6pm with easy dances. We find it very helpful for new dancers to pair them with experienced dancers. We recommend this for the first dance. We are walked through each dance all night long, and when the music starts, the calls continues until we learn the dance.
