An evening service intended for rest and contemplation. Compline is led by the Rev. Sarah Thomas. Begins with synthesized ambient music by DJ artist, Andrew Elia, then a transition with loose-leaf brewed herbal tea, and concludes with the opportunity to hear a person share a personal story. This month’s storyteller is Sarah McHale. Sarah lives in Los Angeles, with her husband and two teenage boys and has devoted the last 19 years to raising them. Her eldest son is neurodivergent and his way of moving in the world has deeply informed her spiritual journey. Through all her years of parenting she has also been learning to live more wholeheartedly – unpacking her former achiever self, seeking the true self underneath all the layers, and pursuing an art practice. Yoga, meditation, therapy, silent retreats, collage, painting, beachcombing, and hiking are pathways that have helped guide her in this journey. She is also a Spiritual Director, and has degrees in Psychology and Interior Design. Incense and candlelight are used during the service. Trinity is an LGBTQ+ welcoming and affirming congregation.  www.trinitysb.org/compline
