Are you curious about how the ocean is managed within the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary? Join us for our next council meeting where we will discuss resource management issues with 21 advisory council members. Public input and questions are welcome during a designated portion of the meeting.
ABOUT:
The Sanctuary Advisory Council provides advice to the sanctuary superintendent in addition to serving as a forum for consultation and deliberation for the community, assuring public input to management decision-making, and helping expand public awareness about the sanctuary and its resources. Its 21 members represent the interests of the Chumash community, commercial fishing, recreational fishing, non-consumptive recreation, tourism, business, research, education, conservation, public-at-large, and 10 government agencies.
Regular meetings are held every two months
