Concerned about rising hate & violence?
Join us this Martin Luther King, Jr., Day Weekend to learn how to intervene in situations of harassment, bullying, hate speech, and more.

Join us for an interactive Bystander Intervention Training on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 10am to noon at Parish Hall of the Unitarian Society of Santa Barbara, 1535 Santa Barbara St. (at the corner of E. Arrellaga St.), Santa Barbara, CA 93101!

The training will provide a grounding in the principles of nonviolent intervention, and we will practice specific de-escalation techniques as a bystander in a variety of scenarios when our fellow community members are being harassed.

This is also an opportunity to connect with others who want to organize for a more compassionate, inclusive, and equitable community.

This free workshop is sponsored by the Unitarian Society of Santa Barbara.

Everyone is welcome!

Bring a friend, we’ll make room for as many people as we can fit in the hall!

If you can, though, give us a heads up for how many are coming by signing up on Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/bystander-intervention-training-tickets-1119454351099
