A film by Emily Grigor and Tirzah Farley.
Be prepared for some scares.
This sci-fi and thriller short film is about a drug/pill called AQUAVAX where it cures Deaf people by being able to hear without needing a hearing device. However, there is a side effect by taking the AQUAVAX pill.
This film is almost entirely signed with captioning. This project highlights the work of Deaf artists in the community and increases accessibility to the arts for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities. This is thanks to Connecting Thru Sign Language (CTSL), an non-profit organization working to bridge the communication gap between the Deaf and hearing communities in Santa Barbara since 2013.
*** This film contains violent content which may be too intense for some viewers. Viewer discretion is advised. ***
This is supported in part by the California Arts Council, a state agency, and the National Arts and Disability Center at the University of California Los Angeles.
Special Thanks to:
-Therapeutic Journeys with Dolphins, Horses, People and the Arts, the parent non-profit organization of CTSL
-Santa Barbara Public Library, C.A.C and N.A.D.C
