5K Charity Walk/Run September 24

Seven St. Vincent de Paul Conferences from Ventura and Santa Barbara County are joining together to host a 5K Charity Walk/Run in Carpinteria on September 24.   The 5K Charity Walk/Run was previously held in Carpinteria until 2019, when it was suspended because of COVID.   Registration begins at 8:00 at St. Joseph Church, 1532 Linden Ave.; and the first walkers will depart at 9:00 for a 5K Walk/Run through downtown Carpinteria to the State Beach, and return for a festive post-run event; including demonstrations from Carpinteria Summerland Fire Department and CPR demonstrations From American Medical Response. All walkers, runners and volunteers will receive a free T-shirt while supplies last.  If you want to participate, but don’t want to walk, volunteers are welcome.  All donations will stay local for the benefit of the poor and needy in the local area.  More information: www.fopwalk.org/event/2705 or call 805) or  453-2916.
