The second evening of 4xSB, the acoustic music series for and by local musicians, will kick off with a lutherie chat at 3pm, followed by an evening concert with Ball & Sultan, acoustic Good Time blues maestros, and The Elderberries on Saturday, October 12.
If you are interested in Hawaiian Steel Guitars, Weissenborns, Ukuleles, or Acoustic Guitars and Basses, ‘Oi Acoustics will have a chat about building them starting at 3pm. Stop by to talk story about adventures in lutherie. For more information see www.oiacoustics.com
The evening’s concert headliner will be Flying Fish / Rounder recording artists Tom Ball & Kenny Sultan, who will bring their unique blend of guitar and harmonica blues, rags and good time music to town for the first time since their 2019 40th anniversary at the Lobero.
Their live performances travel the world, and were the only musical act in America to play all four venues of the 1984 Olympic Games. They have worked on countless film scores, TV soundtracks, commercials and session, and their eight duo albums have garnered critical acclaim throughout the world. At home wherever they go, Tom and Kenny with their blend of American roots styles are “American’s Good Time Blues Ambassadors.”
Sean and Dorie Hutchinson have been singing together since the 1970’s with Summer Peaches. Still bearing the fruits of music, and pending an upcoming album release, The Elderberries quartet with Jordan Bush and Jim Cutsinger bring smooth harmonies and a mix of eclectic instruments including tenor guitar, ukulele, lap steel and banjo that celebrate the works of little known but vibrant songwriters both old and new.
Join us for great music, food, drink, and friends with the party starting at 6pm and music at 7pm. Tickets for reserved seating are $25 and limited to 96 seats. General admission tickets are $20. To purchase tickets visit www.sbcaw/upcoming.
