Firefighting efforts against the 86-acre vegetation fire were “assisted by the lowest recorded August temperatures in 34 years,” according to Los Padres National Forest.

Areas south of the fire perimeter are no longer under an evacuation order, while fire is now estimated at 38,663 acres.
Most evacuated residents have been allowed to return home, and fire crews are being deployed back to their home stations, to other fires, or onto north side of the more than 38,600-acre wildfire.
