Overturned Gravel Truck Closes Multiple 101 Lanes

Much of Highway 101 near the Highway 1 intersection was closed early Monday afternoon after a gravel truck collided with another vehicle and overturned, the California Highway Patrol stated. No injuries were reported.

The collision took place at 12:54 p.m., and as of 1:20 p.m., all 101 southbound lanes were closed at Buellton and traffic was being diverted to Highway 246. Two of the three northbound lanes were also closed because of loose gravel scattered over the road.

The CHP says it’s unclear what caused the collision or how long the lanes will be closed.
