Plane Crashes on Goleta Beach

A pilot and one passenger were aboard a single-engine plane when it crashed into the coast two miles from El Capitan State Beach on 8/1. The pilot had reported engine trouble to the Santa Barbara Municipal Airport before the plane went down at about 8 p.m. The pilot was transported to Cottage Hospital while the passenger walked away uninjured. The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are now investigating the exact cause of the crash.
