Cops Find Lots of Pot on Pedregosa
A 28-year-old man was arrested for child endangerment and possession with intent to sell marijuana after authorities found 83 pounds of pot in trash bags outside of his residence. The weed was valued at approximately $80,000, according to police spokesperson Sgt. Riley Harwood.
On Tuesday, officers responded to Pedregosa Street for a disturbance-in-progress call after Travaris Amps allegedly refused to leave the house of his girlfriend’s parents. Amps lives there intermittently along with his girlfriend and their 11-month-old child.
Once they arrived, officers found Amps seated in the bed of his truck parked outside of the house and noticed a Pyrex dish containing a small amount of concentrated cannabis in it. Police officers searched the truck and found drug paraphernalia used for manufacturing and selling concentrated weed along with more than $5,000 in cash, Harwood said.
Through an investigation, officers found Amps has a record of causing disturbances within the household and allegedly threatened violence, and they also discovered cell phone footage of his son sucking on the end of a used marijuana water pipe like it was a toy, Harwood said. Officers later found the 10 bags of marijuana outside. Amps was arrested and booked in county jail for $100,000.
