Sexual Assault Awareness Month Events
2nd Annual 5K Fun Run & Walk – The UCSB Women’s Center, Rape Prevention Education Program is sponsoring this benefit for Santa Barbara Rape Crisis Center. The event takes place this Saturday, April 21st, 8:30am-noon, behind the UCSB Student Resource Building.
Denim Day – please see the attached flyer and wear denim and “Why Denim” buttons. Let us know if you or your group will be participating by wearing jeans/denim on Wednesday, April 25th. We would love to add the name of your group to the list of participants
The Truth Told Project – Join us for a one night only journey into the heart of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) through the eyes of local photographer Sarah Fretwell. Sarah spent 50 days in the North Kivu region of the DRC exploring the lives of girls and women living in isolated communities. Learn about the state of women in the DRC, our direct connection to the conflict, and how you can become an advocate for change. This is an evening of story telling through art you want to be sure to attend. This event takes place on April 26th, 5:30pm, Contemporary Arts Forum, 653 Paseo Nuevo.
