Lee Stein–widely recognized as a co-inventor of the e-mail messaging process in addition to patenting the Internet’s first banking payment system–will be the keynote speaker at commencement exercises for UCSB’s Bren School of Environmental Science and Management. Since 2000, Stein has turned his focus to the environment, co-founding the Southern California chapter of the national organization Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2). Stein has worked on many of the new fuel efficiency initiatives for California and recently traveled to the 2007 United Nations climate-change conference in Bali. His address will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 13, in the courtyard of Bren Hall at UCSB.
