Workshops Planned to Present Info On Alzheimer's and Dementia
In recognition of World Alzheimer’s Day Sept. 21, the California Central Coast Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association will present three workshops for people wanting to know more about Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. The workshops are free, but an RSVP is requested (805) 892-4259, ext. 23.
The program staff of the chapter will present the workshops. .
As the population ages (Baby Boomers begin retiring next year), Alzheimer’s disease will become more prevalent. By 2050 nearly 16 million Americans will have the disease. The impact on families and society cannot be overstated. The need for us all to know more about dementia and Alzheimer’s (the most common form of dementia) is critical.
The three workshops are on September 21, 22, and 23
– Understanding Dementia: 1 – 4 p.m., Tues., Sept. 21, Alzheimer’s Association office, 1528 Chapala St., #204, Santa Barbara
– Know the 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s Disease: 1 – 3 p.m., Wed., Sept. 22, Karpeles Museum, 21 W. Anapamu Street, Santa Barbara
and a second presentation
