How did you come up with your band’s name? Night surfing during the full moon.
What was the first album you ever purchased? Johnny Winter’s Still Alive And Well. That album was full of the craziest blues a 12-year-old could ever hear. I was hooked on guitar after I heard it.
What’s the strangest thing in your record collection? Pussy Brats. It’s a compilation of porn music from the ’70s and ’80s. Super groovy!
If you could write a song with anybody, who would it be? Either God or the Devil. Not sure about that one yet.
What’s your most embarrassing onstage moment? Sometimes when we play small venues with a short stage, somebody will come up and start freestyle rapping or singing. We’ll hear them out for a few measures and let them jam if they’re good, but if they aren’t killing it, then they get the boot. We’re nice guys and we hate to be mean, but if they’re killing the vibe, we force them out. Sometimes people get their feelings hurt. That’s embarrassing.
What’s your most prized possession? My 1992 Ford Explorer
Beatles or Stones? Stones
Nirvana or Pearl Jam? Nirvana
What song do you remember most from your childhood? When I was a kid, I was really into Christmas music from the ’50s. But I guess my individuality came from Billy Joel’s “River Of Dreams.” I think I can still remember the words.
