The Good Parts

According to noted Constitutional scholar S. Palin, Dr. Laura is quitting (an act of political courage that Prof. Palin knows a lot about) because Dr. L’s First Amendment rights ceased to exist when people criticized her and called for a boycott of her radio show. This is also Dr. L’s explanation: “I want my First Amendment rights back.”

The First Amendment actually says, “Congress shall make no law … abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press.” It doesn’t say, “No one shall be subject to criticism from their fellow citizens or suffer the free market economic consequences of exercising the right to free speech.”

It would be nice if conservatives read the parts of the Constitution that refer to things other than guns.
