Robert Plant, Alison Krauss Announce SB Stop
Santa Barbara Bowl Hosts Raising Sand Tour This June
Rock icon Robert Plant and country songstress Alison Krauss recently confirmed a number of dates in support of their collaboration album, Raising Sand, including a Wednesday, June 25 stop at the Santa Barbara Bowl.
Plant, known best as the founding frontman of English rock band, Led Zeppelin, went solo following the band’s breakup in 1980. Since then, he has worked with a number of musicians, including Afro Celt Sound System, Jeff Beck, Phil Jonstone, and, most recently, Krauss.
The duo began collaborating last year, releasing Raising Sand together in October of 2007. The album has since gone on to garner both Krauss and Plant a great deal of critical praise, as well as outselling any of either artist’s other solo records. Krauss and Plant will also be joined onstage by Raising Sand‘s producer, T Bone Burnett, who will play guitar and six-string bass on the upcoming tour.
Tickets for the show will go on sale Monday, March 3 through a number of the artists’ websites. Visit robertplantalisonkrauss.com, robertplant.com, alisonkrauss.com, and tboneburnett.com.
