Storyteller Children’s Center Elects 4 New Board Members
New Board members include:
Dinah Calderon grew up in Santa Barbara, attending Crane Country Day School and Cate School. She graduated from Connecticut College with a degree in Art History. After college, Calderon moved to San Francisco and was the Northwest Director of Ad Sales for Town & Country Magazine. She was active in a number of philanthropic organizations and chaired the Modern Ball for the Museum of Modern Art. In 2001, Calderon was recruited by Santa Barbara Magazine to lead their advertising sales team. Calderon is actively involved with Crane School, the Natural History Museum, the Breast Cancer Resource Center and Cate School.
Ned Doubleday is a Managing Director at Certis Capital Management, a Santa Barbara-based advisor to high net worth families. Doubleday is a member of the Investment Committee and oversees Business Development and Operations for Certis. Previously, he was a co-founder and Managing Director at Lynwood Capital Partners, a middle market private equity investment firm. Doubleday began his career at Manufacturers Hanover Trust and then spent two years as an analyst at Lehman Brothers in New York City. Doubleday is a graduate of the Katherine Harvey Fellow Program at the Santa Barbara Foundation, where he also served as a member of the Investment Committee for several years. He is a former board member and Treasurer of Heal the Ocean and a former board member of the Santa Barbara Club. Doubleday holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University and an MBA in Finance from the Anderson School at UCLA.
Michelle Montez Fisher has practiced municipal law for twelve years, working as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Santa Barbara City Attorney’s Office. Fisher provided legal advice to the human resources, police, library, and code enforcement departments. She is a graduate of Santa Clara University School of Law and received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Women’s Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is actively involved with the Cold Spring School Parent Club and is a co-chair for the annual Sunrise Montessori Preschool fundraiser. She is a Junior League sustainer and recently assisted in the formation of the Santa Barbara Public Library Foundation, a non-profit corporation seeking to raise funds for the Santa Barbara public libraries. Fisher has served as a board member of the Junior League of Santa Barbara, and is a past president of both the Tri-Counties Local Government Lawyers Association and the Barristers’ Club of Santa Barbara. She and her husband Ian have three children.
Alixe Mattingly has 25 years of experience in strategic communications and public affairs in the political and public policy arenas and the private sector. Most recently she has been Vice President of Communications at the Santa Barbara Foundation. She has been an active advocate with area nonprofit organizations including Hospice, Direct Relief International, and Laguna Blanca School. Prior to moving to Santa Barbara, Mattingly was Senior Vice President of Public Affairs for the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America and Senior Vice President of Communications for the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association. She also has extensive governmental credentials, serving as Assistant to the President and Deputy Press Secretary under Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush. She also served as Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at the Department of Health and Human Services.
