Fire Department Offering Free Sandbags

Today, the City of Santa Barbara Fire Department announced that, in accordance with the city’s sandbag policy, the public can now pick up free sandbags at three locations:

At the City Yards Annex at 401 E. Yanonali Street

At the County Public Works Maintenance Yard at 4568 Calle Real (Dump Road, near the transfer station

At Fire Station 11 at 6901 Frey Road (behind Costco)

At Fire Station 14 at 320 Los Carneros Road (next to Stow House).

The City Yards Annex limits 20 sandbags per visit. The Public Works Maintenance Yard limits 25. Residents should bring their own gloves and shovels to fill the bags they need.
