The Visions of Hope 4th Annual Worship and Celebration Service was incredible. The audience was set on high with an amazing musical prelude by Marcus Alexander and Malachi Mack and a spiritual “spoken word” from Tiona Jones. Worship was set ablaze by a lineup of gospel artists that included S.B. Community Voices, Troy Anthony, Juan Turner, Lazandria Richey, Harvest Coast Band, Olivia and Brianna Tapia, Church for the Nations Worship Team, and the remarkable rapper Derek Clark.

The event opened with a welcome by founder Phillip Pipersburg Sr. He introduced the outstanding Mistress of Ceremonies Beryl Smith Alexander, who shared her personal vision of hope. This was followed by City Councilmember Frank Hotchkiss’s address to the 400 attendees. Eight African-American honorees received three Certificates of Recognition each for their contributions to civil rights in America from Visions of Hope, and the offices of State Assemblymember Das William and Santa Barbara County Supervisor Salud Carbajal. Pastor David N. Moore Jr. delivered a dynamic message that was relevant and inspiring to the large and diverse audience of attentive listeners.

Rev. Jeffrey Clark gave the invitation to “discipleship” and reggae singer “Beanie” closed the event with Bob Marley’s “One Love.” We had a blast and hope to see you all at future events, said Phillip Pipersburg, Founder of Visions of Hope.
